More than a vintage supper club with a neon sign…
a dining family tradition for generations
Our Story | The Restaurateurs
Where It All Began
Back in 1961 in their pursuit of the American dream, Mary and Petey opened a quaint, little restaurant with a supper club feel in Oak Lawn, Illinois. A bungalow house on the corner of 95th Street and Kostner Avenue was converted into a steakhouse and seafood restaurant and the Bungalow Lounge opened its doors to the public serving patrons in the Oak Lawn, IL area and surrounding Chicago Southland communities. Through the years, they were driven to build their business and make this supper club restaurant a success. To this day, you will see Petey in the kitchen and greeting guests, long-time friends, and new acquaintances. Stop in for dinner, and a meet and greet with Petey.
Down the road in 1969, Mary and Petey were inspired to open Petey’s II, their second restaurant location and private dining venue in the heart of Orland Park surrounded by farmland at the time. As the anchor of the Petey’s legacy, Mary’s leadership and management paved the successful long history of both restaurants while Petey focused his efforts on the kitchen cooking up a storm and welcoming diners. Driven to succeed, the hard work and commitment from Mary and her brother Sam in building the Petey’s II restaurant business would make it successful for years to follow earning its place in history as one of the first steakhouse and seafood restaurants in the Orland Park area.
Petey’s Bungalow is open for dinner and small group dining events.
“We sincerely appreciate your business and wonderful memories shared through the years. We cherish the
lifelong friendships we built with you over the years.
For over 60 years, we’ve proudly served you, the
